Its very good!! But why did you do it on a textbook?
:iconknotme:
I found the book in a box of books to be discarded, and I thought to myself," I can creatively recycle this by making this a sketchbook." It is freeing to not have to be daunted by a blank page staring back at you, or be preoccupied by what it will look like if you mess up. What's to mess up, the page is already filled with nonsensical text about a law precedent set in 1685 by some caliph promising to marry a woman but fleeing the country and establishing sovereign rights, no pressure.
And, because I was naive enough to think I was being totally original, and the thought of people thinking I was studing law only to be surprised by the mixed media inside appealed to me, and it had nice paper and is cheaper than buying a regular sketch book; it was free.

Very fine work! More of us artists should hug trees!

Really like the use of an old textbook, for environmental and creative reasons, but also because the muddle of art, science, words, paint, law, war, thought, action, learning, innocence etc seems really appropriate for River Tam - though I'm not sure you used a Firefly/Serenity shot as reference?
:iconknotme:
It was a "Cameron" from "Terminator: the Sarah Conner Chronicles" publicity shoot, but I had a few Serenity shots of River that I will probably get in there as I have them posted on my wall of my library if I forget what to do next.
Thanks.
:iconknotme:
Thanks, plus old books have bindings/covers/"gravity" that can really inspire you to a new direction(s).
:iconmclistjay:
Yeah, I thought it might have been, though I've not seen it.

I really like this picture.

That's a great idea. Time for me to get out the old physics lab book and draw nerdy people over the equations :)

This is a great idea and really well done. I recognised her instantly. Wonderful work! :+fav:
